On Thursday, July 19, the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals and the Alliance for Biking and Walking held a webinar with Caron Whitaker, America Bikes' campaign director, to update biking and walking advocates and practitioners on the shifting landscape of federal funding for biking and walking projects.
This session followed up on a webinar two weeks ago about the changes to major biking and walking projects in the new bill. (For a detailed account of the contents of that webinar, see our analysis of the bike/ped policies in MAP-21.)
In yesterday's webinar, Caron reviewed the basic structure of Transportation Alternatives, summarized the changes to other programs in MAP-21 and their implications for biking and walking funding, and discussed next steps for advocates and practitioners. Check out the slides below for more information!
If you work in biking and walking advocacy or planning and would like to attend these webinars in the future, please consider becoming a member of the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) or the Alliance for Biking & Walking.
